Being on a dance team is a very different
experience from being a dance major:
n Dance teams involve camera time and
interviews for local news.
n There are no wings on the court; even sitting
on the sidelines requires performing.
n Dance teams heavily emphasize school spirit,
sometimes even more than technique.
n The audience isn’t just there to see dance,
so they may leave during the halftime
performance to get a snack.
n Teams try to dance as one cohesive unit and
are less concerned about individual artistry.
n Dance teams use tumbling skills at games and
